The new semiconducting thiophosphate compounds KZrPS₆, RbZrPS₆, and CsZrPS₆ exhibit red light emission at room temperature. The materials have longer photoluminescence lifetimes than most of the inorganic chalcogenide semiconductors. They can be solution processed into thin films for potential device fabrication.
