The aim of this paper is to discuss the material aspects of trans-resveratrol, a magic pill and a sound breakthrough in the world of anti-aging medicine, with special focus upon its polymorphic concepts and crystal morphology. In addition, it has multifaceted potential to act as an antioxidant, antitumor, anti-inflammatory, and antiestrogenic agent. Nevertheless this pioneer molecule has not been explored much with respect to its material properties. As it is well-known that polymorphic form and morphology are critical quality attributes of a drug substance, a pragmatic quality by design approach of multistage crystal structure prediction (CSP) is followed assisted with the experimental observations through powder X-ray diffraction patterns of five polymorphic forms of trans-resveratrol (RSV). The information and knowledge gained from this study will provide scientific understanding to enable determination of polymorphic pursuits of this anti-ageing pill. Since RSV is not well studied in terms of crystal polymorphism and geometrical patterns, this study strives to determine its conformational features and crystal packing patterns. This paper also highlights the concept of crystal morphology in RSV as an aid in CSP.
