Cu-doped ZnSe single-crystal one-dimensional (1-D) nanostructures were fabricated via thermal treatment ofthe as-synthesized corresponding precursor, which was prepared through a ternary solution-based method. The evident phase transformation suggests that doping with Cu2+ favors the formation of the cubic phaseZnSe. The as-prepared products were characterized using diverse techniques (X-ray powder diffraction, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and selected area electron diffraction), which demonstrate thatboth the sphalerite cubic phase and the wurtzite hexagonal phase coexist in nanowires obtained from ZnSedoped with different amounts of Cu2+.
