The new series of trigonal-pyramidal chromium complexes [HE{Cr(CO)5}3]2- (E = As (Ia), Sb (Ib))were obtained from the reactions of E2O3 (E = As, Sb)with Cr(CO)6 in concentrated KOH methanolic solution.These are the first examples of group 6 complexescontaining E-H fragments (E = As, Sb), and thehydrogens are shown to be more hydridic than those inthe related iron complexes due to the more electropositivecharacter of Cr.
