The TiO
2-H
2O-B
2O
3 ternary syste
m was studied at high pressure (7.7 GPa) and highte
mperatures, and a phase diagra
m is proposed. Depending on the initial stoichio
metricconditions, Ra
man spectral analysis identified rutile, TiO
2-II, H
3BO
3, HBO
2, and B
2O
3 asthe crystalline stable phases, and an a
morphous phase constituted by B, Ti, and O. Theeutectic point of this syste
m was identified to be at around 400

2 rather thanH

mised by the presence of oxide-bearing phases that decreasethe eutectic point of the syste
m. This pheno
menon can produce a liquid that works as a
mediu
m for transporting
material, producing grain growth, which co
mpro
mises the borideproperties.
