and characterized by X-ray crystallography. Crystallographic cone(
C)
and solid (
C) angles for the phosphite lig
ands were calculated from the lig
andconformations in the crystal structures
and compared with the available literature data.The steric data are shown to be influenced by the surrounding lig
and environment. Theeffects of the lig
and conformation on the steric measurements are discussed,
and the resultsapplied to the analysis of equilibrium
cis-
trans isomer ratios in [Mo(
5-C
5H
5)(CO)
2(L)I].
