Microchip electrophoresis was used to resolve a binarymixture in 0.8 ms using a separation field strength of 53kV cm
-1 and a separation length of 200
m. Themicrochip design permitted an electric field strength of6.1 V cm
-1 in the separation channel per volt applied tothe microchip. Concurrently, the spatial extent of theinjection plug and the detector observation region wereminimized to increase separation efficiency.
