Two chromatographically inseparable, diastereomeric eudesmane cyclic sulfites have been semisynthesized from -santonin. This diastereomeric mixture was resolved by enzymatic acetylation with CCL. Each cyclic sulfite derivativewas individually characterized on the basis of its spectroscopic and crystallographic properties.
