Under hydrothermal conditions, two unique lead(II) frameworks {Pb1.5(NCS)2(L)0.5}n (1) and {Pb4Cl5(HL)3}n (2) (H2L = iminodiacetic acid) have been isolated. 1 represents a scarcely reported 2D lead(II) framework in which two neighboring homochiral layers parallel interpenetrate each other. Between the interpenetrating layer, interwoven double-stranded helices with the same handedness can be observed. On the other hand, 2 represents a novel 12-connected lead(II) hybrid compound based on propeller-like spiral Pb4O6 cores as nodes with two kinds of different bridges (chloride and carboxylate bridges). 2D chiral inorganic−organic hybrid layers with (3,6) topological structure can be observed, in which Pb4O6 cores (Δ or Λ geometries) are extended by μ2-Cl and μ3-Cl bridges. Anions (NCS, Cl) well-regulate these lead(II) frameworks via coordination bonds and secondary weak supramolecular interactions. Solid-state luminescence spectra of 1 and 2 also have been investigated.
