An intramolecular cycloisomerization occurred upon adding a tertiary amine N-oxide to alkyne-cobalt complexes, derived from 3-sila 1,7-enynes anddicobalt octacarbonyl. As a result, eight-memberedcyclicdienylsilanes were obtained by a regioselective insertionof the alkynyl group into the C(1)-H bond.
