Three novel pentacyclic meroterpenoids with a unique dilactone structure containing C鈥揅 bonded bi- and tricyclic 纬-lactone moieties, biyoulactones A鈥揅 (1鈥?b>3), were isolated from the roots of Hypericum chinense, and their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data. The relative and absolute stereochemistry of 1 was assigned by a combination of NOESY and a single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
