The group IV metal chelating diamide complex 2 has been prepared and characterized by ¹H and¹³C{¹H} NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-raystructure analysis. This complex is an active catalystupon combining with the appropriate activator. Thecatalyst efficiencies, however, are considerably lowerthan those of Cp-based catalysts. The polydispersities ofthe polymers produced were found to be broader thanthose observed for Cp-based single-site catalytic systems.
