A self-assembled, decameric water cluster stabilized by a cyano-bridged copper(II) complex was characterized by X-raydiffraction studies, FTIR, and thermogravimetric (TG) and differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) analyses. Every water cluster is connectedstrongly, via hydrogen bonds, to four cyano nitrogens of a [Fe(CN)6]4- anion. The complex water rings are stable indefinitely at roomtemperature, and when thermally decomposed, the water loss is irreversible.
