Nonisothermal adsorption equilibrium data are describedusing the virial equation written asa polynomial function in adsorbed-phase loading and reciprocaltemperature. This equation iswritten in terms of polynomials that are orthogonal to summation. As a result, application ofthe least-squares method to correlate experimental data becomesstraightforward and simple, not even requiring any matrix algebra. Ill-conditioning of thenormal equations for high-orderpolynomials is avoided. The model is successfully applied todescribe nonisothermal data fordifferent systems over a wide range of temperature andpressure.
