The yttrium dialkyltrans-Y(MAC)(CH2SiMe3)2(1; MAC = deprotonated aza-18-crown-6) hasbeenisolated and characterized (NMR and X-ray). Complex1 exhibits high stability toward ligandredistributionand metalation, reacts with CO to form atrans-bis(enolate) by silyl migration, and undergoes alkyl abstraction by B(C6F5)3 to generatethe highly unstablecation[Y(MAC)(CH2SiMe3)]+[B(C6F5)3(CH2SiMe3)]-,insitu.
