Unprecedented constructions of C鈺怌 double bonds have been achieved by Ir-catalyzed intramolecular dehydrogenative and dehydrative cross-coupling of tertiary amines and ketones. The reactions are proposed to proceed via an Ir-mediated C鈥揌 activation mechanism.
