Density and Excess Molar Volume of Tri-n-Octylamine + Propionic Acid + Diluent at 298.15 K

The densities and excess molar volumes (VE) fortri-n-octylamine (TOA) + propionic acid, TOA +diluent,and propionic acid + diluent binary systems were measured under thefull range of composition at 298.15K, respectively. The excess molar volumes of TOA + propionicacid + diluent ternary systems were alsomeasured at 298.15 K. Benzene, toluene, p-xylene,ethanol, hexane, and cyclohexane were used as thediluent. Theages/entities/verbar.gif">als/jceaax/42/i02/eqn/je9601671e10001.gif">ages/entities/verbar.gif">of TOA + propionic acid is found to be about 6cm3·mol-1 atxA = 0.75. Themaximum values of excess molar volume(als/jceaax/42/i02/eqn/je9601671e10002.gif">)for the ternary systems showed smaller values thanthat of TOA + propionic acid.
