The known plagionicin A (1) and eight new monotetrahydrofuran acetogenins, plagionicins B-D (2-4) and plagioneurinsA-E (5-9), were isolated from the leaves of Disepalum plagioneurum by bioassay-guided purification. The structuresof the new compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods. The new monotetrahydrofuran (mono-THF) acetogeninsexhibited significant in vitro cytotoxicity against the KB cancer cell line, with IC₅₀ values in the nanomolar range.
