The reaction of [Cp2Ti(CO)2] with B(C6F5)3leads, surprisingly, as revealed by X-ray structure determination to the unexpected titana acylborane [Cp2Ti(L)(2-OCB(C6F5)3)] (1, L = CO, "O-outside" configuration; 2, L = THF, "O-inside" configuration) with thetris(perfluorophenyl)borane, as a Lewis acid, attachedto the carbonyl carbon atom. The acylborane picture isstrengthened by a theoretical calculation (ELF).
