Synthesis and Characterization of Phthalocyanine-Based Soluble Light-Harvesting CIGS Complex

An easy and versatile solution-based route for the synthesis of a new phthalocyanine-based light-harvesting material PCIGS [Cu2(tBu4PcGa)(tBu4PcIn)S2TPP2] is described. This material is preparedthrough a one-pot reaction of tBu4PcM-Cl (M = Ga, In), CuI, and [(CH3)3Si]2S in the presence of triphenylphosphine. In contrast to the dilute solution, the linear absorption coefficient of PCIGS complex in thesolid state (0 = 145.35 cm-1) is about 150 times greater than the dilute solution (0 = 0.95 cm-1) underthe conditions of the study. The molecular structure of this material is proposed on the basis of theextended X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy.
