Assembly of silver(I) salts and bix in the presence of diphosphines provided four polymeric complexes[Ag(bix)(dppe)]_n·nBF₄ (1), [Ag(bix)(dppp)]_n·nPF₆ (2), [Ag(bix)(dppe)]_n·nPF₆·nCH₃OH (3), and [Ag(bix)(dppe)]_n·nSbF₆·nCH₃OH (4). X-ray diffraction analyses reveal that both 1 and 2 have a two-dimensional network composed ofnanosized metallocyles, and the [Ag(bix)]_n chains in 2 show alternate left and right helices. Complexes 3 and 4 areisomorphous, and they have 3D open frameworks of diamondoid topology with the size of 13 × 13 Ų along theb-axis. Possible formation processes were interpreted by ESI-MS results.
