Schiff base condensation of N(CH₂CH₂NH₂)₃and Ph₂P(o-C₆H₄)C(=O)H produces the potentially heptadentate ligand N(CH₂CH₂N=CH(o-C₆H₄)PPh₂)₃, whichreacts with tungsten carbonyls to form two tripodalcomplexes and a tricyclic cage complex.
