Regular, single-crystalline nanocubes of Prussian blue, Fe4[Fe(CN)6]3, with different sizes were synthesized in large quantitiesby a direct dissociation of the single-source precursor K4Fe(CN)6 in acidic solution under ultrasonic conditions. The size and size distributionof the cubes strongly depends on the reaction temperature, the concentration of K4Fe(CN)6 aqueous solution, and the ultrasonic condition. The probable mechanism of formation of Prussian blue is discussed.
