method is based on the rate of for

m the reaction of glycerol andNAD
+ catalyzed by the enzy
me glycerol dehydrogenase in solution. The deter
mination of glycerolwas perfor
med between 0.3 and 3.0
mmol L
-1 (0.028 and 0.276 g L
-1), and good repeatability wasattained (rsd < 3.6%,
n = 5) for all sa
mples tested. The deter
mination rate was 54 h
-1, the reagentconsu
mption was only 0.75
