A number of gold(III) complexes containing tetradentate Schiff base lig
ands have been synthesized
andcharacterized. Gold(III) forms four-coordinate square planar complexes with these lig
ands. These complexes havebeen characterized by their elemental analyses
and UV-visible, infrared, NMR,
and mass spectra. Preliminaryradiochemical studies with Au-198 show that these complexes are also formed at the tracer level from (Bu
4N)-[
198AuCl
