Theory is presented to describe the voltammetric signalsassociated with the stripping phase of stripping voltammetry at solid electrodes. Three mathematical models areconsidered, and the importance of the hemisphericaldiffusion associated with electrochemical dissolution ofparticles in the micrometer range is investigated. ModelA considers a "monolayer" system where the coverage ata specific point cannot exceed a maximum value. ModelB considers a thin layer of metal or metal oxide, but incontrast to model A, the maximum surface coverage isnot restricted. Model C represents the stripping of a "thicklayer" where the deposition is also unrestricted.
