This article describes the features of the use of the possessive clitics and in Old Russian translations from the end of the XIVth century. The origin of these translations is associated with the circle of the metropolitan Cyprian. On the one hand, in the Euchologion of the Great Church the Slavic clitics that are translations of the Greek possessive forms and are found mainly in the position between an attribute and a noun. Thus, in the Slavic text, the relationship between possessive clitics and possessive pronouns can be described as a complementary distribution. On the other hand, in the service of the consecration of the oil, which is a part of the Euchologion, as well as in the translations of the canons of John Mauropous and Philotheos Kokkinos the Slavic possessive clitics are also often used after the noun. Due to this fact the translations relate more closely to the texts from the Middle Bulgarian period. In a hymnographic text from the XIth century—Ильина книга—neither the first nor the second translation technique is used. However, in certain contexts, there is a special distribution of clitics and possessive pronouns, which is similar to the features of the Euchologion of the Great Church.
