Background and aimsElevated CO₂ (C_E) and temperature (T_E) can not only affect crop physiology and growth but also soil nutrient availability, which could in turn influence crop response to C_E and T_E. However, such indirect impacts of C_E and T_E on crop productivity are often unexplored, potentially underestimating the impact of C_E and T_E at a system level.
