Effects of proton irradiation on structure relaxation of Zr41.5Ti14.9Cu12.6Ni10.5Be20.4 bulk metallic glass are investigated by means of X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetric and electronic resistance measurements. The results show that, at 203 K, the structure of Zr41.5Ti14.9Cu12.6Ni10.5Be20.4 bulk metal glass is relaxed obviously by proton irradiation with the energy and the dose being of 160 keV and 1.65×1016 ions/cm2, respectively. However, Zr41.5Ti14.9Cu{12.6}Ni10.5Be20.4 bulk metallic glass becomes more steady amorphous state under two conditions, one is that the energy and the dose are 160 keV and l.l×1015 ions/cm2, respectively. Another is that the energy and the dose are 120 keV and 6.5×1015 ions/cm2, respectively.
