A novel bis(dibenzo-24-crown-8)-functionalized iridium complex with an emission peak at 665 nm was synthesized. Several deep red-emitting supramolecualr phosphorescent polymers (SPPs) as a class of solutionprocessable electroluminescent (EL) emitters were formed by utilizing the efficient non-bonding self-assembly between the resulting iridium complex and bis(dibenzylammonium)-tethered monomers. These SPPs show an intrinsic glass transition with a Tg of ca. 90 °C. The photophysical and electroluminescent properties are strongly dependent on the hosts’ structures of the supramolecular phosphorescent polymers. The polymer light-emitting diode based on SPP3 displayed a maximal external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 2.14% ph·el−1 and the Commission Internationale de L’Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.70, 0.29).
