BackgroundWith more than 11,000 newly diagnosed cases each year in Germany, endometrial cancer is the fourth most common type of cancer among women. A good algorithm in diagnostic procedures results in an appropriate operative strategy and prevents unnecessary invasive diagnostic procedures. In this context the recent modifications of the stage classification introduced in 2010 are helpful.
