In next generation satellites will use high efficiency modulation such as 16-APSK. In satellite communication, 16-APSK scheme has better receiver performance than 16-QAM and 16-PSK due to its intrinsic robustness against the High Power Amplifier (HPA) nonlinear characteristics. In this paper, we propose a receiver feedback closed loop pre-distortion technique to compensate for the HPA nonlinearity and foliage attenuation on 16-APSK. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can achieve about 8dB of the BER performance enhancement compared with that of without pre-distortion technique at BER=10− 3.
