The crystal structure of C$\_17$H$\_18$ClCuN$\_3$O$\_2$S (M = 854.78, monoclinic, P2$\_1$/c, a = 8.316(2), b = 18.461(4), c = 11.774(2) Å, β = 99.64(3)°, V = 1782.0(7) Å$^3$, Z = 4) is formed by dimeric molecules [C$\_17$H$\_18$ClCuN$\_3$O$\_2$S]$\_2$ with two monomeric units linked together by two chlorine atoms. The Cu atom is coordinated by two chlorine atoms, an oxygen atom, the azo nitrogen atom attached to the benzene ring, and the nitrogen atom of the thiazole ring, in the form of a distorted tetragonal pyramid.
