The developments in the field of body volume reduction are steadily progressing. In contrast to the earlier intention to simply remove fat, a natural and harmonic shape of the body is nowadays the priority. There is a trend towards non-invasive or minimally invasive techniques. Treatment now needs to be both effective and minimally painful. As a result, many new methods that do not require surgical interventions have been established in recent years. Such high demands require aesthetic body contouring methods that not only ensure effective reduction of fat but also enable a gentle and subtle transition to untreated areas. Depending on the characteristics of the fat deposits various treatment methods are available. According to the individual patient circumstances and needs, the professional and expert physician selects the optimum treatment that best matches the area to be treated. With ultrasound lipolysis, ultrasound body shaping, laser lipolysis, radiofrequency and shockwave therapy, fat deposits can be melted away. Injection lipolysis is an effective way to remove very small fat deposits in problematic areas, such as facial regions, hips and inner thighs. An effective and even more gentle alternative with outstanding medical and aesthetic results is controlled cooling of the tissue: cryolipolysis. By innovative body shaping techniques, new aesthetic medical methods and advanced technical knowledge fat can be more effectively and sustainably removed, particularly for circumscribed fat depots in small areas of the body.
