This paper presents the results of identification of columnar habit in apple trees using molecular markers 29f3 and 29f1. In the genome of varieties Strela, Teleimon, Kaskad, Geizer, Zelenyi Shum, Priok-skoe, and Gotika, an insertion determining the columnar crown habit in apple trees was identified in the near-gene region of the Co locus. This insertion is absent in the genome of noncolumnar apple tree varieties. Keywords apple tree columnar habit Co gene molecular markers
