This paper delineates a rectangular shaped multiple magnet based electromagnetic energy harvester (EMEH) and how it scavenges energy from environmental vibrations in a particular magnetic pole array. Finite element analysis (ANSYS FEA) was used to observe the magnetic field areas and the corresponding flux lines with magnitude-based vector plots of the 1–6 magnets surrounding the coil. The proposed EMEH generated up to 224.72 µW of rectified DC power against a load resistance of 200 Ω for an arrangement of 5-magnets. The operating frequency of the generator is 6 Hz, which is suitable for supplying power to portable devices and remote sensor node applications.
