Migrants are principally an endangered collective and in the first instance need a rapid and adequate medical care under consideration of many aspects. These include, for example, if they have come from regions with infectious diseases that are rare in Europe and comparatively often other resistance and colonization conditions. Other reasons are a high risk of mental stress due to traumatic events, separation situations, legal uncertainties and/or problematic living conditions. Special emphasis is placed on the needs of pregnant migrants and newborn children. Essential for an appropriate and reliable care are clearly defined algorithms which are exemplified by the internal regulation in a university hospital.
