BackgroundIn the setting of an acute myocardial infarction (AMI), although the most common etiology of a left ventricular (LV) mass identified on multimodality cardiovascular imaging is a thrombus, other possibilities including a vegetation or tumor should be entertained within the differential diagnosis.
