A triplexer using three cascaded multimode interference (MMI) sections with different widths is designed, fabricated and characterized. The simulation results shows that with optimized cascaded MMI sections, a good triplexing function can be achieved. The designed triplexers were fabricated using ultraviolet lithography and inductively coupled plasma etching. The experimental results coincide well with the simulation.
