In 2015 the carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), another widespread disease, has been recognized in Germany as an occupational disease known as BK 2113. Despite being recognized as an occupational disease there is always the question whether the CTS diagnosed in an individual is truly work-related. The problems of distinguishing non-work-related reasons that can cause the widespread disease CTS are highlighted. The CTS has the potential to fully occupy employer liability insurance associations, medical experts and the jurisdiction.
