A heterogeneous and magnetically recoverable nanocatalyst was conveniently synthesized via covalent anchoring of Cu(II)–Schiff base complex on modified Fe3O4@SiO2 nanoparticles yielding Fe3O4@SiO2–Cu(II). The resulting material was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The resulting nanocomposites were utilized as a catalyst for oxidation of o-phenylenediamine to 2,3-diaminophenazine in the presence H2O2 in aqueous solution. The data were fitted to the Michaelis–Menten model and the parameters Km and Vmax were obtained.
