The objective of this research is controlled synthesis of FeVO4 magnetic nanoparticles through the simple and environmentally co-precipitation method in an aqueous solution. In addition, in order to green synthesis of FeVO4, three capping agents such as glucose, lactose, and starch were applied to investigate their effect on the morphology and particle size of final products. The as- synthesized FeVO4 ferrite powders were characterized by XRD, SEM, EDX, VSM, and UV–Vis techniques. Based on the vibrating sample magnetometer result, FeVO4 nanoparticles show antiferromagnetic behavior at room temperature. The visible-light-driven photocatalytic activities of FeVO4 nanoparticles were examined based on the photodegradation of Rhodamine B in an aqueous solution. Furthermore, the FeVO4 catalyst nanoparticles efficiently decomposed Rhodamine B under visible light irradiation; more than 69 % of Rhodamine B was removed from the solution in 5 h.
