Background Incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD) is defined as superficial inflammation and swelling of the skin. An assessment can be carried out with the German IAD intervention tool (IADIT-D). Until now, no literature-based utilization advice or nursing intervention suggestions for the German scale are available.
