Series samples of Sr2CeO4:Eu3+, M+ (M+ = Li+, Na+, K+) phosphors were successfully prepared by solid-state reaction method. As Charge compensators, Li+/Na+/K+ ions were added though non-stoichiometric (NSC) compensation and stoichiometric (SC) compensation, respectively. The phase composition and luminescence properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), photoluminescence (PL) and fluorescent decay curves. The luminescence intensity was greatly enhanced by doping Li+/Na+/K+ ions with NSC compensation, and Na+ ions enhanced the luminescence intensities more obviously than Li+ and K+. Doping Li+/Na+/K+ results in improvement of energy transfer from Ce4+ to Eu3+ and lower symmetry of the structure.
