BackgroundHypouricemia is pathognomonic in syndrome of inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic hormone (SIADH) but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Based on the previous studies, we hypothesized that V1a receptor may play a principal role in inducing hypouricemia in SIADH and examined uric acid metabolism using a rat model.
