BackgroundPancreatic anastomosis is the Achilles heel of pancreatic surgery. Despite substantial progress in surgical techniques the rate of postoperative pancreatic fistulas remains very high. For this reason various supportive measures to secure pancreatic anastomoses are of continuing interest.
