We developed 14 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers for the Pacific abalone, Haliotis discus hannai, one valuable fishery resource in East Asian countries and popular seafood worldwide. The polymorphisms of these SNP loci were assessed using a wild population comprising 37 unrelated individuals. The minor allele frequency ranged from 0.1216 to 0.4865, and the observed and expected heterozygosities ranged from 0.189 to 0.865 and from 0.217 to 0.507, respectively. Only one locus (HdS82) deviated significantly from Hardy–Weinberg equilibrium and no significant linkage disequilibrium was detected after Bonferroni corrections. These polymorphic markers appear suitable for conservation surveys and population genetic studies for the Pacific abalone.
