摘要
The first occurrence of violarite, and second of millerite, in Arkansas are described. They occur in calcite veins in faulted cranoidal bioherms of the Mississippian St. Joe Limestone. It is considered that migrating solutions became enriched in nickel, either from mineralization at depth or from the leaching of the enclosing formation (St. Joe), concentrating this material in the cavities.
