Mikesell et al. demonstrate how to extract subsurface parameters from spurious refracted energy in seismic interferometry. The process is illustrated by a two-layered numerical refraction example.

van Groenestijn and Verschuur introduce a new primary-estimation method that estimates the primaries as unknowns in a large-scale multidimensional sparse inversion process, rather than the traditional prediction and subtraction process. The method does not depend on interpolated missing near-offset data because it can reconstruct this missing data simultaneously with estimating the primaries.
