摘要
In the present paper the utilization of trend surface analysis in geology is discussed. Polynomial models have been largely used mainly to solve stratigraphical and structural problems with various degrees of success. The moving average technique has been found useful in the prediction of ore valuation. Models based on the Fourier series are applied only when the data present cyclicitv. The problems connected with the use of trend surface analysis are also discussed.
